Job Description:
The Offshore Assistant Driller (AD) supports the Driller in the safe and efficient operation of drilling activities on offshore rigs or platforms. They assist in monitoring drilling operations, managing equipment, and ensuring safety protocols are followed to achieve operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Driller in the day-to-day operation of the drilling rig.
- Monitor drilling parameters and equipment performance.
- Support in the preparation and operation of drilling equipment and systems.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and participate in safety drills.
- Help in maintaining well control procedures and emergency protocols.
- Conduct routine inspections of drilling machinery and systems.
- Support general housekeeping and maintenance of the driller’s cabin and equipment.
- Keep accurate records of drilling activities, measurements, and incidents.
- Communicate effectively with the rig crew, onshore teams, and other departments.
- Assist in troubleshooting operational issues and reporting anomalies.
- Participate in safety meetings and safety reporting.
Qualifications and Skills:
- This position is open to Thai Nationals or Regional/Local Expat.
- Previous offshore experience in the Gulf of Thailand preferred
- Valid IADC Driller / IWCF Level 3
- Valid offshore certification such as BOSIET, HUET, or equivalent.
- Prior experience in offshore drilling operations preferred.
- Basic knowledge of drilling equipment, well control, and safety protocols.
- Good communication, teamwork, and safety awareness skills.
- Ability to work in a remote offshore environment, often in challenging weather conditions.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
Work Environment:
- Work on offshore drilling rigs or production platforms.
- Rotation 28/28 or 28/14 depending on drilling activity.
- Exposure to harsh weather conditions and safety risks.
- Strict adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
Contract worker (Permanently assigned to rig). 7-12 Months contract.
